On a walk beside a lake, I once stopped to photograph something moving in the water. By the time I found it on my screen, I had already decided the picture was worth showing someone. I spent longer choosing who to send it to than looking at it.
I remembered that small burst of excitement while browsing the Loch Ness sightings register, which still collects reports from people who think they have seen something unusual. A report isn't proof of a monster, but I can understand wanting to have something to report.
